PROJECT OVERVIEW: Malteurop – Barley Analysis Silos

An enjoyable part of Xypex is that the range of structures we see and have the opportunity to be a part of. A site extension at Australia’s largest Malting Site in Geelong, Malteurop’s Barely Analysis Silo illustrates just that, and how a large concrete structure situated in a harsh coastal environment on the Bellarine Peninsula requires specialist solutions.

Xypex Admix Solutions were specified in each of the four new 500 T Barley Analysis Silo tanks to protect the concrete from the moist environment created by a constant water and air fan, used to germinate the malt, as well as protecting the concrete from chloride ion attack in the harsh marine environment.

Just another great example of Xypex Solutions providing not only Durability to the Concrete structure but resistance to Chemical attack that is permanent for the life of the concrete.
